“Simply do what you often do” was the request from designer and Colombe Studio founder Marta Chrapka’s shoppers, a pair of attorneys who have been trying to overhaul their small flat within the stylish Powisle district of Warsaw. “We didn’t have any particular pointers; somewhat, there was full belief and loads of enjoyable,” shares Marta. “Since they’re my associates, we understood one another very nicely.”
That inventive freedom led to an entire transformation of the small residence, which is in a modernist townhouse from the Nineteen Thirties. The house had previously functioned because the workplace of a small newspaper. “It was divided into tiny little rooms, and there have been piles of photocopiers, ’90s-era folders and desks all over the place, and the partitions have been purple,” says Marta.
Not one to disappoint shoppers, Marta dutifully adopted their orders and did what she often did: create movement, welcome in pure mild, add traditional herringbone wood flooring, design elevated millwork particulars (together with her signature design characteristic—a comfortable mattress nook), and embellish with refined, trend-proof items.
