A couple of months again, a pair of pants I ordered got here in a fairly natural-fiber web bag. I sliced it down the seams, tacked up the panel in a bed room window, and presto: a textural window overlaying that affords some privateness and nonetheless lets the sunshine in.
Ever since I’ve been admiring netted, semitranslusent, loosely woven curtains. Take, for instance, these beguiling hangings from Twenty One Tonnes, much more suave than my DIY model and woven in Oaxaca, Mexico, from maguey leaves left over from mezcal manufacturing (making them low-waste in addition). Every panel “brings a heat textural aspect and catches the daylight in essentially the most stunning means,” in keeping with the store, and can be utilized as room dividers, wall hangings, door or window coverings, or layered screens.
