
The consumer grew up within the space driving ponies within the fields that encompass his Georgian home close to Belfast, Eire. He returned after a few years in London and bought a farmstead in disrepair. Wanting to show his place into “a tribute to craftsmanship,” he labored with Artichoke, a UK design-build agency specializing in bespoke, top-drawer historic renovations.
Along with an all-around improve, swooping oak staircase and pine-paneled library included, the construction obtained a brand new wing “constructed,” notes Artichoke, “in a wholly conventional manner, utilizing wood formers, lime foundations, and brick fairly than concrete.”
What caught our eye is the minimalist kitchen, a modernist tribute to nineteenth century Flemish designs of unfinished oak with carved particulars. Artichoke describes the mission as “extremely bold however understated.” Be a part of us for a glance.
