Within the UK there are apparently so many treehouse inns that The Occasions Journey part issued an inventory of the 12 newest and biggest. On the high? The Quist, a Covid pipe dream venture of a younger couple: Harriet Churchward and Matt Pescod reside with Minnie, their three-year-old, in Herefordshire on the grounds of Brinsop Courtroom, the 800-acre property full with moated manor that Harriet’s mother and father personal and function as a marriage venue.
Matt is a musician and carpenter—he educated in positive woodworking at a boat-building academy—Harriet is a self-described “sleep-deprived entrepreneur” with a penchant for design. “When Matt and I mounted up our first place collectively, we found we work properly as a group.”
At Brinsop Courtroom, Matt hiked to the bracken-filled meadow atop Merry Hill, the best level on the property, and urged it as a main spot to constructed a hideaway to run as a retreat. A really arduous 12 months later, they unveiled their high-style aerie: a hand-built, two-bedroom cabin that rests on stilts amid old-growth forest.

“Plenty of the design got here out of fabric we had obtainable,” Harriet continues. “These log ends within the gable have been the ultimate building element—we made them from leftover wooden. I needed texture and particulars that signify this isn’t simply any cabin.”
