The home, a brand new construct by Gren Weiss Architect & Associates, is sited on Pine Island in Georgian Bay, Ontario, and accessible by boat solely. The realm is thought for its exhausting, rugged magnificence—and in designing the interiors, the pair regarded to the pure components simply outdoors its entrance door for inspiration. Regionally sourced fieldstone and wooden are the leitmotifs that present up many times.
“We needed to seize the sensation of the stone below foot when strolling barefoot on the island—one thing we had the pleasure of doing whereas touring the property earlier than the cottage was constructed. The intention right here is to reconnect with nature, not distance oneself from it,” they inform us.
Beneath, Adam and Thom stroll us by means of their venture, each an homage to the weather and a refuge from them.
