This kitchen provides new that means to “fireplace of the house.”
Located on an island in Georgian Bay, Ontario, the house is centered on a generously sized stone island. “The household has a practice of standing and sharing meals across the kitchen island on weekends,” says Adam Robinson of Montreal-based Bureau Tempo, who collaborated with Thom Fougere Studio on the interiors of the brand new construct. “We sought to bookend these two essential rituals architecturally by way of using stone.”
Unusually, the kitchen island is clad in locally-sourced fieldstone that brings heat to the in any other case clean-lined house. “We aimed to seize a little bit of that tough, wild nature throughout the inside,” Adam says.
